Hello, I am Harpo Faust, and I am a botanist. I currently run the University of New Mexico Herbarium in the Museum of Southwestern Biology as Collections Manager. Before this I was an independent botanist based in Tucson, AZ. I finished my masters in botany with the Tank Lab, at the University of Idaho in 2020. I studied floristics there and worked as the Assistant Curator at the Stillinger Herbarium .
I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area in California. I graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2013 with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and a minor in Education.
I enjoy performing botanical surveys and I am invested in using these skills towards conservation and management of wild lands, especially those threatened by development. Additionally, I have a vested interest in preservation of flora and aspire to continue to work with collections indefinitely.
